タイプA-11は第二次大戦時に U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES（米陸軍航空隊）が採用した腕時計で、当時はブローバ社、エルジン社、ウォルサム社がそのコントラクターであった。戦闘機の計器類同様、深いブラックダイヤルに刻まれたホワイトのアラビア数字は必用最低限のデザインであり、非常に高い視認性を誇っている。また、グローブを装着した状態でも操作を容易にする大きめのリューズや、傷を目立ちにくくするベゼルのコインエッジ（貨幣の縁のような装飾）など、質実剛健なディテールも見逃せない。

The Type A-11 watch was adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War ll. Its contractors at the time were Bulova, Elgin, and Waltham. The watch features a minimalist design with white Arabic numerals engraved on ab lack deep dial similar to meters on fighter aircraft, and provides extremely high visibility. The simple but superb details cannot be overlooked, such as an oversized crown to facilitate operation with gloves on, and a coin edge bezel to make scratches less noticeable. The strap is made of cotton fabric that was also used for military uniforms at the time. Finely embroidered eyelets for strap buckle adjustments have old style specifications. A watch that counts the time accurately was essential for pilots who maneuvered control sticks to execute their missions and was essentially a small combat equipment.
