WINTER KINGと名付けられた1950年代のモデル。表側にキルティングステッチが入らないシンプルなデザインで、生地の光沢感がより際立つ。フロントはブラウンテープの「クラウンジッパー」を搭載している。ポケットは中身の落下を防ぐ仕様で、内側にはボアフリースを装備。裾は前後で異なる作りで、前身頃には「アラスカ」らしく、熊をモチーフとした織りネームを配している。

ALASKA SLEEPING BAG COMPANY
アラスカ・スリーピングバッグ・カンパニーは1930年代初頭にオレゴン州ポートランドで創業。ダウンを使用した寒冷地用シュラフのメーカーとしてスタートした後、アウトドア・ウェアやギア全般の製造販売を開始。丈夫で高品質なダウン・ウェアは極寒地にも耐えうる性能と評判になり、当時のアウトドア・ブームにも後押しされて事業を拡大していった。カタログを利用したメールオーダーの通販事業でさらに業績を伸ばすと、60年代にはL.L.BeanやEddie Bauerと市場のシェアを争うほどに成長。その後もしばらく堅調に事業を続けたが、70年代に入ると多数の同業者の参入により経営が徐々に行き詰まり、アウトドア・ブームの最盛期を過ぎた70年代の終わりにブランドとしても終焉を迎えた。

The Alaska Sleeping Bag Company was founded in the early 1930s in Portland, Oregon. After starting out as a manufacturer of down sleeping bags for cold climates, the company began manufacturing and selling general outdoor clothing and gear. The company's durable, high-quality down products gained a reputation for resistance to extreme cold, and the outdoor boom of the time encouraged the company to expand its business. The company's catalog mail-order business led to further business expansion, and by the 1960s had grown to compete with the likes of L.L. Bean and Eddie Bauer for market share. After that, the brand continued to do well for a while, but in the 1970s, the business gradually hit a wall due to the entry of many competitors, and the brand ended when the outdoor boom peaked out.
