タイプC-1は1944年頃から採用された緊急時用のベストで、撃墜されても生きて帰るのが飛行士の大前提であったためにこれを助ける生存用装備を収納、携帯するためベストが開発された。空の戦いに挑戦する飛行士はあらゆる状況を生き残るための技術を持たなくてならない。これには万一、事故や被弾によって飛行が不可能となり、脱出した場合の技術が含まれる。脱出した飛行士が到着するのは地表であり、これには陸上と水上、味方の支配地域と敵の支配地域、人間が全く存在しない地域が含まれる。生存への要素として最低限必要な食料や水、医療品、武器となるピストルやナイフ、信号用品など、着陸後にバッグやケースを持ち歩くのを解消すべくフライングスーツやフライトジャケットの上に着用して生存装備品の多数を収納可能な優れたC-1ベストが開発された。
Type C-1 was an emergency vest adopted from around 1944, and the vest was developed to store and carry survival equipment that would help aviators survive being shot down. An aviator who fights in the air must have the skills to survive every situation. This includes technology in the unlikely event that an accident or bullet makes flight impossible, and they escape. Escaping aviators arrive on the surface, including land and water, in areas controlled by allies and enemies, and areas where there are no humans. The excellent C-1 vest has been developed that can be worn over a flight suit or flight jacket to store a large amount of survival equipment, including the minimum required food and water for survival, medical supplies, and weapons such as a pistol and knife, and signal supplies, eliminating the need to carry bags and cases after landing.
