米軍のコントラクターでもあったラフウェア社が、1940年代の大戦期に民間向けとして展開していた「ROUGH-IN」レーベルのホースハイド製スポーツジャケットがベース。当時の物資統制の影響で脇部分の鉄製バックルが省略されており、ゴムシャーリングに変更されている。また1930年代はウールライニングが主流だったが、本作は起毛されたコットンチェック生地へ、ポケットの袋地も無地のフランネル生地からラフウェア製のB-15と同じコーデュロイに変更。ヴィンテージには付いていなかった内ポケットを追加するなど随所にアップデートを行なっている。
Based on the “ROUGH-IN” label horsehide sports jacket that Roughwear— which also served as a U.S. military contractor—marketed to the civilian market during the 1940s. Due to material rationing at the time, the metal buckles on the sides were omitted and replaced with elastic shirring. Furthermore, while wool lining was the norm in the 1930s, this version features a brushed cotton check fabric; the pocket linings have also been changed from solid-color flannel to the same corduroy used in Roughwear’s B-15 jacket. Various updates have been made throughout, such as the addition of an inner pocket that was not present on the vintage original.
