海上で羽ばたく鷲を中心に、波が背中一面に広がる珍しい絵柄。水飛沫が飛び散る一瞬を切り取った日本画のような「波」の表現は、当時の米兵にとって興味深いものであり、スカジャンの刺繍にも取り入れられた。
リバーシブル面は、ボディよりも袖の色が濃い「逆配色」と呼ばれる生地使い。胸に鷲、背中に龍虎が描かれ、この1着で鷲・虎・龍のスカジャン3大モチーフが揃う贅沢な作り。
A rare pattern in which waves spread all over the back, centering on an eagle flapping its wings on the sea. The expression of "waves", which captures the moment when water splashes, like a Japanese traditional painting, must be of interest for American soldiers at the time, and was incorporated into a jacket with embroidery.
The reversible side uses fabric color combination, so-called "reverse color scheme" in which the sleeve color is darker than the body. An eagle is on the chest, and a dragon and tiger are embroidered on the back. The one piece of jacket has luxuriously the three major motifs of Japan Jacket, which are eagle, tiger, and dragon.
ACETATE SOUVENIR JACKET
スーベニアジャケットのなかで最もスタンダードな両面にアセテート生地を使ったリバーシブルタイプ。戦後当時のスカジャンには、シルクに似た高級感を持つ物資統制外品目のアセテートが使われていた。中綿がないため季節を問わず着用でき、独特なドレープ感も魅力といえる。
