簡素化されたディテール、軍汎用のドーナツボタン、無地の鉄リベットなど「大戦モデル」を象徴するかのような特徴を持つ大戦後期、1945年モデルのデニムブラウス。もとにしたヴィンテージはワンウォッシュ、極上のミントコンディションのサイズ46インチ。さらにヴィンテージ市場で非常に人気の高いT-BACK仕様の個体を再現した。プリーツ部のボックスステッチはかなり小ぶりで、大戦モデルは一般的にオールイエローステッチと認知されているが、本作は一部にオレンジステッチも使用している。バックルは大戦後期のタイプを専用に製作。ムラが強く荒々しいデニムは、前回の1943年モデルともまた異なる魅力を持つ。襟の地の目、太めのカフスも個性的で、全体のサイズ感は大戦期特有の若干小さめの仕上がりとなっている。サイズ46以上の背中は一枚の生地幅では足りないことから、このようなT-BACK仕様となる。

シュガーケーンの福富雄一が中心となり、デニムのスペシャリストを集結させて始動した新レーベル、SUGAR CANE Super “Denim” Collectibles。通称「SCSC」。今回の第二弾も世界有数のヴィンテージデニムコレクターである脇谷重輝氏を迎え、いまや入手不可能といえるほどの価値を持ったデッドストック＆ゴールデンサイズのスーパーヴィンテージをもとに、その貴重な個体が持つ「個性」を完全再現する。1stコレクションに続き、2ndコレクションでもヴィンテージ市場で最も注目されている「大戦モデル」のスーパーヴィンテージ3点を公開。水通しすらしていないデッドストック、着用の痕は見られるがほぼ褪色していないミントコンディションの極めて希少なヴィンテージをもとに、糊が残った状態で酸化したインディゴの色味、経糸・緯糸に使われている綿の性質や糸の形状などを詳細に分析し、ヴィンテージと見紛うような仕上がり。パーツ類は、デッドストックの状態で経年変化した風合いを目指して制作。安全性を考慮して避けてきた2本針の鉄製バックルも本企画では採用している。縫製についても糸番手やミシンピッチは当然のこと、幅が均一ではない大戦期に見られる歪んだステッチワークを現代に蘇らせた。
This is a 1945 denim blouse, representing the simplified details of the “wartime model” with features like military-standard donut buttons and plain iron rivets. The vintage piece this is based on was a one-wash in pristine condition, with a 46-inch chest. The highly sought-after T-BACK design in the vintage market has been faithfully reproduced. The box stitching on the pleats is quite small. Although wartime models are generally recognized for using all yellow stitching, this piece incorporates some orange stitching as well. A late-war type buckle was specially manufactured for this model. The denim is rough and slubby, presenting a different charm from the 1943 model. The fabric grain on the collar and the wide cuffs add character, while the overall size reflects the slightly smaller fit typical of wartime garments.

A new label, SUGAR CANE Super “Denim” Collectibles, also known as “SCSC,” was launched by Yuichi Fukutomi, a denim specialist from Sugar Cane, bringing together a team of denim experts. For this second collection, renowned vintage denim collector Shigeki Wakiya has joined this project. Based on ultra-rare, deadstock and golden-sized super vintage items, now almost impossible to find, the unique “character” of these precious pieces is faithfully reproduced. Following the first collection, the second collection also showcases three super-vintage “Wartime Models,” which are currently among the most sought-after in the vintage market. These reproductions are based on extremely rare pieces, such as deadstock that has never even been washed and mint-condition vintage items that show signs of wear but minimal fading. The indigo color, oxidized in its original starched state, and the cotton properties and yarn structure used in the warp and weft are analyzed in detail to produce a finish nearly indistinguishable from actual vintage items. The parts are crafted to replicate the aged look of deadstock over time. In this special project, even iron two-pronged buckles—previously avoided due to safety concerns—are used. As for the sewing, the thread count and machine pitch have been carefully considered, and the uneven stitching, typical of the wartime era, has been meticulously recreated.
